Economic advantages of aluminum bodies for motor trucks are discussed; their use has been largely credited to incentive for overcoming legal restrictions imposed upon gross weight of vehicles using highways; aluminum body costs more than steel or composite body; analysis of possible savings in actual case of Chicago coal company, which owns number of 7 1/2-ton trucks.
