Abstract of second report of Committee appointed by Chamber of Shipping, Association of British Chambers of Commerce, and Federation of British Industries; provision of up-to-date facilities for coasting trade is matter of vital necessity to oversea trade, as well as to internal transport economy of country; many of smaller ports could be put into commission again, and could recover much of their traffic with comparatively slight expenditure.
