Principal dimensions of proposed liners are: length o.a. 705 ft.; beam molded 82 ft.; gross tonnage 27,000 tons; they are designed to carry dry cargo, refrigerated cargo, fuel oil, automobiles, baggage, mail, stores and passengers; propelling machinery has not been definitely determined at this stage of program and proposals for supplying turbo-electric machinery are being considered.
