Discussion of basic elements of traffic control which has come to be one of most vexing problems confronting modern city executives; author has made studies for improvement of street traffic in many cities, and has developed some very sane ideas in regard to public improvements; shows how various changes will improve traffic conditions without large expense and necessity of careful study of all these measures before embarking upon major improvements involving enormous expense incident to street widening and elevated highways.
