Attention is called to annual toll on streets and highways, from humanitarian and economic standpoint; and reference is made to program developed by National Conference on Street and Highway Safety; author believes this program, if carried out will cut accident toll in half and then cut it in half again despite constant increase in number of motor vehicles and in use of those vehicles.
