Results of tests conducted on 6-in. wind tunnel to study type of air pulsation encountered in open-throat tunnels, and means of eliminating such pulsations; effect of changing exit-cone diameter and flare and effects of air leakage from return passage found; air pulsations eliminated by using moderately large flare on exit cone in conjunction with leakage introduced by cutting holes in exit cone somewhat aft of its minimum diameter.
