Luminance of earth's atmosphere as function of altitude of line of sight from outer space is termed horizon profile; exact tabulated solutions forluminance of plane, parallel Rayleigh scattering atmosphere given by K.Coulson, J.Dave, Z.Sekera, have been used to obtain solutions for horizon profile of spherical earth; results are obtained as function of ground albedo, sun zenith angle, and observer's azimuth with respect to sun; calculation divides atmosphere into lower and upper portion; comments on profiles.
