Radiation dosimeter system for manned flight is described which consists of ionization chamber, electronics, self-contained power supply, and visual real time readout integrated into package of fiber glass and styrofoam; system weighs 0.8 lb and occupies 18.3 cu in.; range is 0 to 1000 rad in 0.01 rad increments, with maximum pulse rate of 3/sec; maximum pulse rate corresponds to dose rate of 108 rad/hr.
