Next two years are critical ones for national space program; decisions must be made on direction which program is to take in post-Apollo period of early 1970's; paper assesses over-all objectives of Space Science and Applications Program with respect to accomplishments achieved in 1965 in these two areas; review of current programs, directed toward bioscience, physics and astronomy, lunar and planetary exploration, launch vehicle development, and practical applications in field of meteorology, communications, navigation, and geodesy.
