Principal considerations of spacecraft include mission requirements, natural and induced environments, and major subsystem interfaces (including human factors); stringent requirements, unique to manned spacecraft design, are covered as follows -- radiation shield, meteoroid protection, cabin sealing, thermal-control coating, toxicity and contamination, and use of higher strength materials and nondestructive test techniques to identify flaws.
