Control augmentation scheme is described and shown to provide improved vehicle performance under certain conditions; fast time-scale analog simulator is developed for control of elastic launch vehicle in which high-speed analog model, by repeatedly performing solutions to equation for behavior of selected ideal system, provides pulse train of corrective signals to controlled system that forces it to behave more nearly like model; second-order rigid-body response in pitch, and second-order representation of first bending mode were used to describe launch vehicle; dynamics of flight vehicle motion.
