Simulated spacecraft cabin using 50-50 oxygen-nitrogen atmosphere at 7.0 psia cabin pressure supported fourman crew during 30 day test; oxygen partial pressure was sensed by polarographic sensor, and oxygen flow controlled to maintain pressure at predetermined point; absolute pressure in chamber was measured by strain-gage transducer, and nitrogen (or other gas) added as required; control circuits for each gas are identical except for sensor, associated power supplies, and conditioning networks; system design and test results are discussed.
