Lunar installations discussed are lunar sites, stations, bases, and complexes; lunar exploration model is outlined and vehicle requirements associated with each level of activity as well as functions of vehicles are established for reconnaissance, exploration, logistics support, and utility; studies demonstrated applicability of 6×6 semiflexible frame concept, derived for Mobile Laboratory, to design of smaller lunar survey vehicle through suitable scaling of mobility subsystem; design consists of three modules, connected by multiple tube elastic frames; flexibility of concept permits standardization of major mobility modules.
