Project carried out by Space-General Corp to develop semirigid or nonrigid structures for re-entry applications paid off with new technologies that may be useful in many areas including oceanology; three technologies developed involved geometry and practical development of fabric, welding of metal fabric, and impregnation and coating technique; each area is discussed; technologies developed are applicable to re-entry vehicle for manned and other payload return and many other space, air, land and sea uses.
