Guidance method is described for lifting maneuverable vehicle through atmospheric entry from end of survival phase to point where ground based guidance or pilot assumes control for landing phase; method makes it possible to guide entering vehicle explicitly using paths other than equilibrium glide (constant lift/drag) path segments; arbitrary specification of initial conditions can be made, and both velocity and altitude, as well as range and cross range, can be specified at beginning of final landing phase; simulation results.
