Tanker Sir Winston Churchill, delivered to Hilmar Recksten by Swan, Hunter and Wigham Richardson, is of 90,000 tons dw and is third in series of seven; two are smaller, of about 60,000 tons dw; owners have standardized on steam turbine machinery, utilizing General Electric (U S) MST-13 single plane turbine and roof-fired Combustion Engineering boilers, similarities and differences between ships in series are described.
