It is noted spearhead of Hovercraft development at present is high-speed marine passenger/car ferry; marine Hovercraft is discussed with reference to development of air cushion suspension system, operational control, and propulsion; tracked Hovercraft is considered in relation to passenger comfort, control, safety, and propulsion; this is specialized air cushion vehicle designed for operating at high speed on elevated concrete track; it consists of streamlined body, rather like aircraft fuselage, supported by one or more lift pads operating with very small air clearance.
