Technical study of various systems of braking and of devices for shortening landing runs. Reference is made to investigations by Nat. Advisory Committee for Aeronautics, from which investigations it is concluded that for a given size of propeller, wide blades have a larger brake effect than narrow blades, and that brake effect of higher-pitch propeller is less than that of lower-pitch propeller.
