Machine invented by Capt. A. R. Mangnall and made by Hydraulic Eng. Co., Chester, England, which is said to be built to pierce a hole 4 in. in diameter and 150 ft. long horizontally through heavy clay in half an hour. Machine is said to operate on principle of thrusting a stick into clay.
