Textiles are used in aeronautical industry for coverings of balloons and wings of airplanes, for gas cells in balloons and for parachutes; properties of fabrics required for these purposes are described; coated cotton fabric is now being used in place of goldbeater's skin for gas cells and cotton is now replacing silk for parachutes.
