Survey flights; author outlines several designs for airplanes and seaplanes for transatlantic service, and is of opinion that, largely on account of take-off and landing problems, flying boats will be used; influence of improvements in materials, high altitude research, and compression ignition engine on future development of large transatlantic flying boats.
