Fractures in elektron propeller shown to be vibration fractures in resonance with tangential force harmonics of engine; stress coefficient is derived with which tendency to crack can be estimated without actual knowledge of fracture stress; tests to determine fatigue resistance and means of increasing resistance discussed.
