In accordance with requirements of AAR affecting discontinuance of arch bar type of car trucks, New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad set up operation at Readville, Mass, shops for rebuilding of trucks on quantity production basis; total of 8200 car sets of trucks rebuilt into modern cast steel side frame types; average daily output was from 24 to 28 finished trucks.
