Gorleston life boat, designed by Royal National Life-Boat Institution, for work over sandbanks of East Coast, built by J. Samuel White and Co, Cowes; boat constructed of double skin mahogany and has 8 scuppers, calculated to free deck of all ordinary seas within 9 seconds; fitted with Marconi radio telephony apparatus with which reliable communication can be established up to radius of 50 mi.; propelled by two 4-cyl light weight high speed Diesel engines each running at 1200 rpm.
