Twelve 2-8-8-4 type units built by Lima Locomotive Works, for use in heavy passenger and freight service on Pacific Lines; total weight 689,900 lb; tractive forces 124,300 lb; boiler working pressure 250 lb per sq in.; cylinders are 24 in. diam by 32 in. stroke; driving wheels 63 1/2 in. diam; locomotives designed for max speed of 75 mph and can negotiate curves up to max of 18°; max of 600 hp developed at 40 mph.
