Railway opened Dec 1927 consists of circular tunnel 70 ft below streets, fitted with two running tracks over which electric trains, without drivers, run automatically; it is 6 1/2 mi long and has 8 stations, each connected with Post Office building or main line railway station; rolling stock comprises 60 cars; battery locomotives stationed at three points for removing stalled trains.
