Motor tanker "Nike" is first vessel to feature new type of stern construction designed by F. Selden; new form was originally designed to avoid dry docking, by making stern tube details accessible from inside ship, and also results in higher propeller efficiency; length oa 483 ft 9 in.; beam molded 59 ft; depth 35 ft 6 in.; propelled by 8-cyl, single acting, 4-stroke Goetaverken-B and W Diesel engine developing 5100 ihp.
