Mechanized baggage handling systems used in Europe and United States are evaluated in terms of capacity, speed of operation, economy and passenger convenience; design of terminal buildings to facilitate flow of passengers and baggage is discussed; "short term peak load" as basis for selection and design of handling facilities is studied to meet requirements for handling of arriving, transfer and departing baggage.
