Results are presented of twilight-region propagation experiments on 128 Mc over airline route from San Francisco, Calif, to Honolulu, Hawaii, including high-altitude jet flights; it is shown that existing VHF equipment with 20 db of added antenna gain on ground, is capable of reliable twilight communications to about twice line-of-sight range for 30,000 ft aircraft, particularly when high sites are available for ground station.
