Results obtained in study for U S Dept of Commerce of 1980 capabilities of conventional, STOL, and VTOL air transportation systems operating within densely populated Northeast Corridor (Boston to Washington); direct operating costs of typical, all-weather, 1980 vehicles are projected; since indirect costs will dominate over stage lengths under 200 mi, estimate is made of reduction possible when integrated computer management information system is used to produce low cost ground operations and efficient management of "Airbus" transportation system.
