Historical accident record of scheduled United States domestic passenger carriers recorded from 1938 to present is examined to show convincingly whether or not rational air traveler, learning that commercial airplane accident has just occurred, should alter his plans to fly same day, following day, or in immediate future; nature and sources of data and statistical methods used to examine data are presented; results obtained and conclusions drawn.
