Two programs are reviewed; first one is concerned with comparison of pilot's ability to perform approach task under visual and instrument conditions in presence of various levels of weather-cock stability; second program is simulation of Canadair CL-84 tilt-wing aircraft undertaken to assess influence on handling qualities of backlash and flexibility in various locations in control systems and various realistic stability augmentation failures in presence of these backlashes during visual hovering and low-speed maneuvering task.
