Study of VTOL flight under IFR (Instrument Flight Rules) conditions using real-time hybrid simulation; search for acceptable display systems for VTOL IFR operations under manual control; instrument panel for hovering and landing problem using display format which did not require attitude display; test subjects performed landings with each manual control mode (acceleration, rate and attitude); adding simulated workload tasks (interrupted display) to primary control task caused degradation in performance of subject in VTOL landing.
