Studies leading to definition and development of air-freight equipment need to consider all aspects of distribution system to be consistent with requirements for total cost marketing; most significant factors requiring detail consideration are characteristics of commodities being shipped, consolidation policies, surface delivery to and from aircraft, ground and air operation of aircraft, and analytical methods for synthesizing these parameters into total system.
