Potential applications for high speed winged vehicles are considered in following fields -- long range high speed transport, civil or military, military combat aircraft, guided missiles, and winged recoverable acceleration vehicles for space launching purposes; power plants compared are turbo-ramjet, turbo-scramjet, turbo-rocket, vertical take-off rocket, air-augmented rocket and ram-rocket; some design factors in high-speed power unit are considered.
