Statistics on automotive uses of various plastics in United States; consumption of reinforced plastics in Italy in 1965 for trucks and refrigerator vehicles, instrument panels, automobile bodies, buses, etc; uses of asbestos-fiber-reinforced polypropylene, and glass-fiber-reinforced polyamide, polystyrene, polyesters, and styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer; total of 950 tons is 7% increase over 1964; advantages and disadvantages; favorable outlook for next 3 yr is indicated.
