By relieving driver of judgment decisions, researchers have taken first step toward pushbutton vehicles, operating on electronic superhighways; test car is steered, braked, and accelerated by joy-stick control with built-in tactile warning finger; with control stick, hand is always on control device, so there is no time lost in movement; reaction time is cut at least in half.
