Practical discussion of applications of reverberation chambers to acoustical measurement problems often encountered by noise control engineers; important characteristics of reverberation chamber are explained and typical chamber construction demonstrated; chamber was shown to be useful, even necessary, tool in development of optimum solutions to automotive noise problems in laboratory; usefulness lies primarily in that chamber provides single measurement which includes effects of significant acoustical factors detected only with difficulty in nonreverberant testing.
