Office of vehicle systems research U S Bureau Standards is concerned with research, testing, and evaluation necessary to provide technical basis for recommended safety performance standards issued by National Traffic Safety Bureau; it will also develop methods to determine compliance with standards; initially U S Bureau Standards will concentrate on tire systems, occupant restraint systems, and braking systems.
