Wind tunnel force and moment measurements on automobiles under quasi-steady stage conditions were investigated to determine if they are representative of transient period during which vehicle encounters wind gust; it was found that these aerodynamic data were adequate for vehicle stability and handling analyses under wind gust conditions up to yaw angles of 15°; above this scale, however, transient effects become noticeable.
