Use of high capacity lifting equipment and multicell storage to cut turnround time at ports; mechanical equipment available for container handling includes special purpose rail-mounted cranes designed for high-speed container handling and is designed to straddle quayside rail tracks and provide 30-ft reach on landward side or 75-ft landward reach; multistory container park is used to hold outgoing containers at inland terminals; benefits of containers can be summarized as safer, faster, easier transmission of goods under full security conditions from one place to another.
