Spread of electrification of British Railways has resulted in efficient pressure ventilation system, powered electrically, more economical than steam heating; instead of 240 kw for diesels only 180 kw is needed for electric heating; schematic layout of pressure heating and ventilating installation is given; utilization of transistors for thermoelectric refrigeration equipment.
