Design data on prototype truck tank cars of 90 tons gross weight, designed and built by Metropolitan-Cammell Ltd, for Shell-Mex and B.P. Ltd; cars are suitable for products over range of densities from mineral naphtha to gas oil; trucks provide more flexible and remote attachment of suspension to barrel; improvement in riding compared with four-wheel vehicle was evident during tests at 70 mph in both tare and laden conditions.
