It is shown that in respect of torsional vibrations, hydraulic circuits of hydrodynamic transmission subdivide transmission unit into input primary and output secondary system, either system being capable of developing torsional vibrations; possible components of primary system are dealt with and idealization necessary for derivation of linearized mechanical model is described; from equations of motion and solutions for 2 and 3-mass systems, critical speeds and amplitudes can be determined when systems pass through resonance zone.
