Review of current developments in British diesel engines other than those of automotive types, i.e. industrial, marine, and rail traction and generating applications, as related to higher injection rates, increased frequency, improved metering and distribution of fuel, wider range of fuels, and cost of injection equipment; ability to withstand higher fuel line pressures, less inertia of moving parts and more precise and compact equipment are discussed.
