Passenger and vehicle ferry, now in service on Strandraer-Larne route, was built by Hawthorn Leslie (Shipbuilders) Ltd for Caledonian Steam Packet Co, British Railways' subsidiary; length oa 369 ft, molded breadth 55 ft, molded depth to shelter deck 33 ft 3 in., draft 12 ft, gross 1309 tons; 1200 passengers and 160 cars or 50 commercial vehicles can be transported; two SEMT 16-PC2V 400 type engines were built by Ateliers et Chantiers de Bretagne, and are rated 7280 bhp at 450 rpm; plan.
