Diner is test car on which engineers of Frigidaire are experimenting with possibilities of light-weight air-conditioning equipment built into existing rolling stock; car completely air conditioned without any changes in construction; entire installation of air-conditioning equipment weighs but 2400 lb, exclusive of battery and axle generator, and was installed with comparative ease in short time.
