Discussion of considerable time savings achieved by Pennsylvania Railroad Co by using IBM 650 data processing computer in calculation of train performance and locomotive tonnage ratings; these calculations are essential in determination of potential purchases and utilization of locomotives and other railroad equipment, as well as investment in track improvements.
