Advantages of using aluminum for sheaths of telephone cables subject to influence of nearby a-c traction systems; heavy steel tape armouring is used to contribute to inductive screening against interference from traction system, and high quality protective serving is applied overall, to protect both sheath and armor against electrolytic corrosion; studies indicate successful operation.
