System adopted by Lloyd's Register for recording and classification of fractures; examples of failures due mainly to faulty welding in bilge keels, intersecting or scalloped members, runoff plates, T-junctions, and welded accessories, based on use of records; catastrophic fractures which have resulted in some welded ships breaking in two are not covered.
